DID THE EARTH MOVE FOR YOU?

"You don't have to undergo some earth-shattering spectacle to make a positive transformation.
The real shift lies in perception.
When you stop looking at the world with such a critical view,
believing that this is all there is,
and recognize and appreciate the wonder of every aspect of life,
then the tranformation is well under way. "

- Sonia Choquette

I found this quote a couple of days ago and it really spoke to me. No, not with a voice in a conversational "hello, how are you today, Kylee?" kind of way (that would make me a sandwich short of a picnic). More in the philosophical way you see one of those someecard memes on Facebook and think it was directed squarely at you!

I used to think I had to wait for some catastrophic, majorly significant event in order to change my life. It seems to be part of my weirdness that things have to be 'just so' before I can do certain things - or before they feel comfortable. I took an online test a few years back ('cuz we all know how accurate they are! ...right up there with a Cleo magazine quizz on what your romance style says about you). This test basically confirmed what I already suspected, which is that I am a quirky lass :-) with lots of 'OCD-esque/social/character disorder' issues to keep my life interesting. Nothing I guess but mere hurdles that this short-arse will just have to navigate through to get to where I want to go.

So gently gently I go. I've been kinder to myself the past few days.  Not trying to drastically up heave my life, because that sort of drama doesn't suit me. Just plodding along, doing the things I know I must do to get to the end of another day. But I do love how when you start taking inspired action - or action from a more relaxed joyous place - things happen.  Sometimes small things, sometime bigger.

Sometimes opportunities so seemingly small, you don't take the time to process that it's a step ahead from where you were yesterday.  I've pleasantly just realised as I've gotten my crafty back on this past two weeks, I've had five opportunities present themselves to me where people would like to engage my products or services.  I normally wouldn't think much about this, but last night it was like a big pretty neon sign saying 'maybe you need to keep pursuing your craft'.  I'm trying to say YES to opportunities, and sadly this is not usually the first instinct for me.  But I don't think that would surprise anyone.  I'm like a toddler really, who answers everything with 'no', until I have time to think about it and wonder why the heck I didn't say yes! So that is my goal this week.  To stay open to opportunity. To consider all offers, especially if they allow me to have fun and be creative.

So what's been happening in your world this week.  Are you taking baby steps like me or giant Usain Bolt-type leaps and strides (hopefully with infamous 'lightening bolt' pose)?

I will leave you today with a couple more of my favourite memes.  Giggle.

Ha ha ha (sometimes you gotta laugh because it's so so true).

Snort.

Giggle.
